Colombo, Sri Lanka, April 27 -- Sri Lanka Army issued the following press release:
Brigadier G.V. Elapatha (Retd) VSV of the Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps passed away on 25 April 2025, following a brief illness at the Kotelawala Defence University Hospital, Werahera. He was 91 years old at the time of his demise.
The mortal remains of the late Senior Officer will lie in repose at No. 11, Hirana Road, Udahamulla, Panadura, from 8.30 a.m. on 27 April 2025 for final respects.
His funeral, with full military honours, will take place on 28 April 2025 at 5.00 p.m. at the General Cemetery, Minuwanpitiya, Panadura.
