Colombo, Sri Lanka, Aug. 28 -- Sri Lanka Air Force issued the following news release:
The Certificate Awarding Ceremony of the No. 01 Non-Commissioned Officers' Management Course (NCOMC I) conducted in English and Sinhala Medium was held today (28 August 2026) at the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) Academy China Bay, under the patronage of the Director General Construction Engineering, Air Vice Marshal Krishantha Hewapathirana, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The ceremony was conducted under the supervision of the Deputy Commandant of SLAF Academy China Bay, Group Captain Asanka Rathnayake, and the Commanding Officer of the Non-Commissioned Officers' Management School, Wing Commander Akhila De Alwis.
The 14-week course was designed to develop Non-Commissioned Officers of the Tri-Services by enhancing their academic knowledge, managerial competencies and leadership capabilities, thereby preparing them to effectively undertake greater responsibilities within their respective organisations. The course, affiliated with the University of Rajarata, culminated in the awarding of the Diploma in Management to eligible Non-Commissioned Officers upon successful completion of the academic requirements.
The No. 01 NCOMC I English and Sinhala Medium Courses comprised of 76 Senior Non-Commissioned Officers including one Senior Non-Commissioned Officer from Sri Lanka Army and two Senior Non-Commissioned Officers from Sri Lanka Navy and 41 Junior Non-Commissioned Officers including one Junior Non-Commissioned Officer from the Sri Lanka Army. At the ceremony, a total of 117 Non-Commissioned Officers were awarded certificates in recognition of their successful completion of the respective courses, marking an important milestone in their professional development and leadership journey.
