The Change of Command of Air Field Construction Wing SLAF Base Ratmalana was conducted on 16 June 2025 at the Air Field Construction Wing. The traditional customs proceeded, where the outgoing Commanding Officer, Group Captain KADDT Kariyapperuma BSc (Eng), Pg Dip (Def Mgt), GCGI (SL), AMIE (SL), MIE(SL), I Eng temporarily handed over the command to Wing Commander BGW Perera AMIIE (SL) to proceed on his leave prior to retirement.
The new Commanding Officer of Air Field Construction Wing, Group Captain NKPK De Silva AMIIE (SL), officially took over the office today (01 July 2025) from Acting Commanding Officer, Wing Commander BGW Perera AMIIE (SL).
The new Commanding Officer, Group Captain NPKP De Silva, AMIIE (SL), previously held the appointment of Deputy Director of the SLAF Construction Management Unit at the Defence Headquarters Construction Project in Akuregoda, before being appointed as the Commanding Officer of the Air Field Construction Wing.
