Colombo, Sri Lanka, Sept. 8 -- Ministry of Defence and Urban Development issued the following news release:

The Deputy Minister of Defence, Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd), chaired a 'Public Day' Program held in Pelmadulla, Ratnapura District, on Sunday (6 Sep).

The initiative served as a direct platform for the public to voice matters pertaining to their personal and community welfare. A significant number of veterans, families of war heroes, and local residents attended the event and had the opportunity to present their concerns, requests, and grievances directly to the Deputy Minister.

Attentively considering each matter raised, the Deputy Minister issued directives to the relevant officials to take prompt and appropriate action in addressing them.

Officials representing the office of the Deputy Minister of Defence were also present at the program.
