Colombo, Sri Lanka, Oct. 30 -- Ministry of Defence and Urban Development issued the following news release:
Deputy Minister of Defence Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd) and Defence Secretary Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd) attended a reception held to mark the 103rd Anniversary of the Proclamation of the Republic of Türkiye on 29 October at the Shangri-La Hotel, Colombo.
The two dignitaries were received by the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Sri Lanka, His Excellency Semih Lütfü Turgut, upon their arrival.
Minister of Labour and Deputy Minister of Finance and Planning Hon. Dr. Anil Jayantha Fernando attended the occasion as the Chief Guest.
Cabinet Ministers, members of the diplomatic corps, Members of Parliament and senior government officials were also present at the event.
