Colombo, Sri Lanka, July 7 -- Ministry of Defence and Urban Development issued the following news release:
The Deputy Minister of Defence, Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd.), chaired a Public Day Programme held in Homagama on 06 July, providing an opportunity for retired military personnel, their family members and members of the public to directly present their concerns and grievances.
The Programme was conducted with the objective of strengthening public engagement and ensuring that issues requiring the attention of the MoD and other relevant government institutions were addressed promptly. During the Programme, the Deputy Minister listened to their concerns, and directed the relevant officials to take appropriate actions to facilitate timely solutions.
Colombo District Parliamentarian Mr. Aruna Panagoda also was in attendance to assist in addressing the concerns raised by the public.
