Colombo, Sri Lanka, Aug. 14 -- Ministry of Defence and Urban Development issued the following news release:
Deputy Minister of Defence Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd) paid an official visit to the Army Hospital, Colombo, today (14 Aug), to review its healthcare services, facilities and ongoing measures aimed at enhancing patient care.
Upon arrival at the hospital premises, the Deputy Minister was received by the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Nilantha Premarathne, and senior officers of the Sri Lanka Army.
During the visit, Deputy Minister of Defence Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd) inspected the hospital's day-to-day operations, healthcare facilities and services, and reviewed measures being implemented to further improve the quality and efficiency of patient care.
While commending the dedicated service rendered by the medical, nursing and support staff, the Deputy Minister appreciated their commitment to maintaining a high standard of healthcare and ensuring the wellbeing and comfort of patients. He also acknowledged the collective efforts of the hospital staff in delivering essential medical services to serving personnel, veterans, their families and other eligible beneficiaries of the Army healthcare system.
The Deputy Minister further stressed the importance of maintaining professional standards, strengthening healthcare facilities and continuously improving patient-centred services. He appreciated the efforts of the Sri Lanka Army in ensuring that the hospital remains adequately equipped to meet the healthcare needs of serving personnel, veterans and their families.
