Colombo, Sri Lanka, April 29 -- Ministry of Defence and Urban Development issued the following news release:
Ambassador of Italy to Sri Lanka, with accreditation to the Maldives, H.E. Mr. Damiano Francovigh, paid a courtesy call on the Defence Secretary, Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd), at the Ministry of Defence today (29 April).
During the meeting, they discussed matters of mutual interest, focusing on strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation in defence and security. The Defence Secretary extended a warm welcome to the Ambassador.
Ambassador Francovigh expressed his appreciation for the longstanding ties between Italy and Sri Lanka and reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with Sri Lankan authorities to deepen cooperation across a range of sectors.
