Colombo, Sri Lanka, Aug. 3 -- Ministry of Defence and Urban Development issued the following news release:
The Ministry of Defence Welfare Society organized a special performance of the Sinhala stage drama "Sanduda Watenne Sikuradata" (සඳුදා වැටෙන්නේ සිකුරාදාට), written and directed by Chalaka Ranasooriya, at the Malalasekara Theatre Hall of Nalanda College, Colombo, on 02 August 2026.
Defence Secretary Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd) and the President of the Ministry of Defence Seva Vanitha Unit, Dr. (Mrs.) Ruvini Rasika Perera, joined the audience to witness the performance. The event was also attended by the Commanders of the Sri Lanka Navy and Sri Lanka Air Force, senior officials of the Ministry of Defence, Ministry staff and a large gathering of theatre enthusiasts. The performance was organized as part of the Ministry's welfare initiatives aimed at enhancing the well-being and morale of its staff.
