The New Zealand High Commissioner H.E David Pine met the Defence Secretary, Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd), at the Defence Ministry today (March 17).
The New Zealand delegation included the Deputy High Commissioner Ms. Gabrielle Isaak, and several other senior High Commission officials.
Discussions focused on matters of bilateral importance, with particular emphasis on strengthening defence cooperation and enhancing economic ties between Sri Lanka and New Zealand. Both sides also exchanged views on collaborative efforts to curb illegal immigration and promote regional security.
