Colombo, Sri Lanka, Nov. 29 -- Ministry of Defence and Urban Development issued the following news release:
The Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) continues its island-wide disaster relief operations, deploying teams to assist communities affected by adverse weather conditions.
Today (29 November), the Eastern Naval Command successfully provided relief to 1,310 individuals impacted by flooding in the Trincomalee, Polonnaruwa, and Batticaloa Districts. This included the rescue of 69 people stranded in flood-affected areas and the safe transportation of 1,241 others to secure locations.
Relief efforts covered multiple locations, including Kinniya, Mall Pacchenai, Kantale, Mutur, Saffi Nagar, Kala Oya, Gomarankadawala, Rail Bridge (Ral Palama), Gallella, and Aluthgama Bogamuwa.
