Colombo, Sri Lanka, Nov. 29 -- Ministry of Defence and Urban Development issued the following news release:
The Sri Lanka Air Force successfully conducted two emergency rescue missions this morning (29 November) amid worsening flood conditions.
A Bell-412 helicopter deployed from the Palaviya Base rescued four individuals - including a Buddhist monk, who had been stranded in the Nikaweratiya area. All were safely airlifted and transferred to designated safe locations.
Another Bell-412 helicopter from the Ratmalana Base airlifted a person trapped by rising floodwaters in the Dompe area, ensuring the individual's safe relocation.
