During his official visit to the United Nations in New York, the Secretary of Defence of Sri Lanka, Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd), held cordial discussions with the Prime Minister of Haiti, Hon. Alix Didier Fils-Aime, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ms. Raina Forbin.
The meeting focused on further strengthening bilateral relations between Sri Lanka and Haiti, with particular emphasis on enhancing defence cooperation and exploring avenues of mutual interest. Both sides exchanged views on regional and global security dynamics and reaffirmed their commitment to fostering closer collaboration through diplomatic and defence channels.
